Palpung - Kagyu Thigsum Chokyi Ghatsal Tibetan Buddhist Institute

Palpung Kagyu Thigsum Chokyi Ghatsal Tibetan Buddhist Institute (PKTCG) is an official branch of Palpung Sherabling under the spiritual direction of the 12th Kenting Tai Situpa, a Golden Rosary lineage holder of the Kagyu school of Tibetan Buddhism. Founded in 2000 by Ven. Choje Lama Shedrup the centre features authentic teachings and practices of the Kagyu lineage. It is located in a residential suburb of Launceston, Tasmania, Australia.

PKTCG offers an ongoing schedule of Buddhist teachings and practices as taught by our Karma Kagyu masters.

Regular Practices:

Daily Meditation and Chanting Sessions: Every morning 7:00am – 7:45am, except Saturdays which is Tara Puja at 8:30am – 10:00am

Mahakala and Chenrezig Pujas: every Evening 5:00pm – 6:00pm.

Weekly Study Group: Every Wednesday Evening 6:30pm – 8:00pm – various topics relating to Buddhist Teachings

Meditation and Discussion Group: Every Saturday 2:00pm – 3:30pm. Meditation sessions with Ven Choje Lama Shedrup, Ven. Lama Tsewang, or the Monks of Kagyu Thigsum Chokyi Ghatsal. Topics covered will include posture, breathing, the development of meditative concentration and the benefits of calm abiding and insight meditation.

Day of Dharma: The first Sunday of the month beginning at 11:00am is a time for practitioners state-wide to come together for group practice, friendship and time for sangha to gather.

Regular teachings and retreats held throughout the year and Wedding, house, and Baby Blessings performed.
